Friday's Art Showcase

I'm linking my children's artwork below to Kimberly's Art Showcase that she hosts each Friday.

There's this cabinet in our kitchen that I put some special Marian statues in, glassware, and cookbooks. In the cabinet is also another one of my 10 year old daughter's art projects she completed in a last year's homeschool art class....Can you find it?

Did you see this painted glass dish?   I have it displayed on a small, clear easel.

This is a 2 headed dragon my son created based on reading a descriptive paragraph and then he had to draw the picture from the descriptive words.  I think it was an assignment a while ago in his writing lesson.

My 6 year old daughter wrapped this note in a gift bag and handed it to my hubby and me this week.  When we opened this beautiful stenciled butterfly on this post-it note, we were both touched with her stenciled creation and the words she included on it: "I Love You Mom, I Love You Dad."  A keeper, for sure.

Just today, my daughter and her friend were playing with the sidewalk chalk and they created this very long hopscotch path.  The two girls are standing at the end of the hopscotch.  They loved hopping with one and two feet on the many numbers, numbers 0-32!

Please join Lynda, Anna-Marie and myself for April's No Ordinary Blog Hop (NOBH). You can link up any or all your posts for the entire month of April. The blogger with the most posts will be awarded a Star Blogger Award!  Click below for details!

My daughter thinks the 2 headed dragon is very cool:) She loves dragons. I love the glass plate I have a couple my kids made and don't have a place to display them right now. Your littlest ones stencil note is just great definitely a keeper. I have memory boxes for both kids and keep all special art work in there:)

Hi Tracy,

I love the kids work this week. The painted dish is beautiful. I love the flower, it is very realistic looking. Putting the dish on an easel in the cabinet is a great idea! Your son's 2 headed dragon in great! Was this from Writing Tales? I like that the assignment came from writing with descriptive words. Drawing is a great way to learn the importance of descriptive words when writing stories. Your 6 year olds gift to you is so very sweet! Those are my favorite gifts, ones from the heart. Thank you for linking up this week. Have a wonderful day!

Oh RC History came yesterday. I am pretty excited to look through it. I will keep you posted.

Hi Anna-Marie,
I actually thought of your daughter when I posted my son's dragon because I remembered she loves things like this! Glad she liked it :) I have a box for each child too to keep their special artwork. The boxes are overflowing though with all their creativity! :) Have a blessed weekend and thanks for stopping by!

HI Mary,
Thanks for your comment and stopping by to check out this week's art showcase :)

Hi Annita!
The kids did have fun playing hopscotch that day! A friend of mine that comes to our house to teach the kids Spanish actually hopped on it and the kids and the teacher were counting the numbers in Spanish! They had fun doing this! I'm sorry we aren't traveling your way this time either :( Yes, maybe one day our family will meet yours in person...How fun that will be! Have a blessed weekend!

Hi Melissa!
HaHa :) Whew I'm glad you cleared that up :) I didn't want to assume anything because I know how BIG blog land is and you have a lot of supportive followers :) Thanks for stopping in and clarifying! :) Have a blessed weekend!

Hi Kimberly,
Thank you for all your kind comments about the kid's artwork! My son's dragon was inspired from a writing assignment in the Shurley English Level 2 Teacher's Manual on page 73. He had to create an imaginary character and write a detailed description of the character. Then illustrate the character matching it with the description. I think he drew the dragon first then wrote about it since this was easier for him. Looking forward to hearing how you like RC History! Have a blessed weekend!
