Beautiful Gardens at our Local Arboretum
Not too far from our home is a local arboretum that is 7-acres in the heart of the county I live in where "homeowners can see the variety of plants that grow in our area as well as emerging trends in plant material." My two oldest children currently take a Junior Master Gardening homeschool class at the arboretum once a week and they have learned so much about gardening and have enjoyed their time in class. While my oldest children were in class one week, I took some pictures of the beautiful scenery in the gardens at the arboretum.
My two youngest children love to put quarters in to get a handful of fish food.
Then they feed the food to the huge and beautiful koi fish in the garden's pond.
There's lots of fish in the pond and some really big ones. My children love when the koi actually jump up over other fish to reach the food.
Dragon sculpture in the middle of the pond.
Bright and beautiful rose bushes in the rose garden.
We love this red bridge over the pond.
There is even a little Children's Garden and play house with a child's size picnic table inside.
Our arboretum visits are always a treat for our family since the scenery and landscaping is so beautiful!

Hello! Thank you for your Visit!

I really love the photo of the red bridge. Koi are so much fun to watch. I used to have a neighbor with a pond like the one in your photo. I would sit for hours watching them. Thank you for sharing your wonderful visit to the arboretum. I have been voting daily for you. Have a blessed Monday, Tracy.
Hi Tracy,
I love the pictures of the beautiful arboretum! It looks like the kids had a wonderful day! We have something similar to this close to home, but it honestly is not as lovely as the one by you. The Children's Garden looks like great fun, and super cute. I can't believe all the fish in the pond. I bet the kids loved watching them go crazy for the fish food. Great pictures and wonderful memories. Thank you for the nice comment on my new blog design. Have a wonderful day.
I clicked a vote for your today.
My daughter would love the sea Dragon!! I love walking thru garden and this garden looks beautiful Next time we are in NC we will have to met up there and my kids would love to feed the fish:) How neat the gardens do a homeschooling junior gardening club. I would love that:) Voted for you.
The gardens are beautiful! What a treat to have such a gorgeous place so close by.
Those toadstools are too cute!!
Great pictures! What a fun way to spend the day! Looks very pleasant and relaxing. +JMJ+
I love taking pictures of water lillies:) I want a pond just so I can grow water lillies:) Voted for you today. Happy Tuesday
What a great place! What a great thing for your daughters to be involved in. Wish we had something like that here. Just wonderful!
Hi Tracy, your pictures of your local arboretum are beautiful! What a fun way to spend a day in the fresh air observing such beauty. Makes me want to head to either the Chicago Botanic Gardens or the Morton Arboretum.
HI Lynda!
The koi and red bridge are beautiful for sure! They are my favorites too! Hope you are having a blessed weekend!
Thank you Kimberly for all your nice comments and visits! Our local arboretum is a wonderful little place and it is easy to forget that it is off a busy road as I walk around the grounds each time!
HI Anna-Marie,
Yes, if you get to NC again I will take you to the gardens! :) That would be fun! My kids are enjoying their gardening class there too! It's a wonderful opportunity for sure :) Thanks for stopping in!
Hi Jen,
Thanks and yes each time we visit the arboretum, I am thankful for such a beautiful place in the middle of the hustle and bustle of our small city!
HI Sarah at "Canterbury Cakes",
The toadstools are cute at the Children's Garden :) I stopped over at your cake blog and enjoyed seeing your yummy and beautiful cakes :) I am following your blog now! Thanks for your visit here!
HI Annita!
Yes, the gardens are a wonderful place to relax and it is peaceful! Although it wasn't so peaceful one time when our homeschool group listened to a honeybee presentation there and afterward all the kids were running around the gardens. That would have been fine and stress-free, but there was a bride there taking her portraits and we had to make sure none of the children in our group got in any of the pictures :) That wasn't so relaxing ;)
HI Julie!
Thank you for stopping in and commenting! The more I go to these gardens the more I appreciate their beauty and all the volunteers and staff that maintain such a gorgeous site!
HI Noreen,
The Chicago Botanic Gardens or the Morton Arboretum sounds so nice and I bet is so much bigger than our local one! I hope you make a trip there soon! :)
