(Almost) Wordless Wednesday-Touching a Stingray at Aquarium
We took a recent trip to a local aquarium with some homeschool families. In this photo the kids anxiously await to pet the stingray (barbs are removed).
My son in the red jacket got to pet the ray several times with the trainer leading the way. I got to touch one too and they feel slimy!
The rays got so close to the edge that when it flapped its wings, my youngest daughter got splashed in the face. Needless to say, it startled her and she wasn't very happy! My camera messed up so this picture is blurry, but you can see her frown right after she got splashed.
Here's a better picture as she stands back to observe the rays swimming around.

Great WW pics! I just nominated you for a few awards! http://ourhomeschoolreviews.blogspot.com/2011/02/lots-of-fun-awards.html
Aren't they beautiful to watch swimming:) Hope your littlest cupcake wasn't too upset and able to join in again. When we were in Florida my son didn't like them coming to close to him when we went swimming in a lagoon. For some reason they spook him:)
forgot to say I voted for you:)
Hi Tracy, how fun to actually touch the stingray. I agree with your daughter, I wouldn't have liked being splashed by one either. Cute pictures!
Great photos Tracy! Congratulations on receiving some more awards. I knew they would come back around. You are a wonderful support to all of us. Have a wonderful day! I voted for you.
Thanks Christine for passing on the awards to me and congrats on receiving them! What a lovely surprise!
Hi Anna-Marie,
The skates are so graceful, but I could see why they would scare your son! It was fun to be so close to them and have the kids touch them! Thanks for the vote!
Thanks Noreen for your visit and comment! The ray made a big splash and it startled everyone, but my daughter got the wetest :(
Thanks Lynda for your continued visits and encouragement you give to me and the rest of the blogging world!
