Not Back-to-School Blog Hop (School Room Week)
I'm linking this post to Heart of the Matter where this week's theme being "Tell us about your school room". We started back into a homeschool routine on August 1 and our room this year is a similar layout as last year's. So here is our room:
We are blessed to have one large room designated for our classroom in our home. This photo is the view from the entrance of our classroom.
Books, books, and more books! One of the many bookshelves in our home.
My two of many "Trash to Treasure" finds. I found the bookshelf that's in the background at a yard sale. I didn't have to think twice about buying it. This is the shelf where books that the children made are stored and our library books are stored here to help us not lose our books that need to be returned so that we don't have to pay library fines again! I got the small, blue and red table from my neighbor many years ago. She was going to throw it away because one of the legs was broken. So we just fixed the leg and painted it and it was good as new!
This is another bookshelf that holds all our religious books/resources.
Our magnetic dry-erase white board that is new for this year. The kids and I have really enjoyed this. I am able to store my All About Spelling magnetic letter tiles on the board (these are the blue and red tiles on the right side of the board.) Then on the left side I have my kid's lesson plans hanging up with magnets. They refer to these plans to see what is scheduled next for their workbaskets or workboxes. Then they are able to put a check mark in the designated box on their plans when a subject/activity is completed. I used the workbox system last year, but this year I am using a different lesson plan format that is working out so far. I hope to do a post on the lesson plan template I use currently.
Workbaskets for my three older children. The green basket on the far right is where I store all my teacher manuals where I can quickly grab a manual to start a lesson. Last year I wasted lots of time searching for manuals that were thrown into baskets and on my bookshelf!

Okay, I'm mildly jealous! What a beautiful room. You're hardwoods are gorgeous!!
I'm adding you to my reader. I can't resist a good Catholic homeschool blog!
Have a wonderful year! God Bless!
Your room looks great. I'm happy we have an extra bedroom we can use, but I do love how large yours is.
Incredible room! I love the art table, the bookshelves, the hooks for the chore chart, the white board, well all of it!
I love it Tracy! What a great space :)
Great school room, I am so jealous:) I can't wait to have my own designated school room when we return to the states. Can't wait to see what you are using this year instead of work boxes. Voted for you:)
I love the art corner! And the beautiful wood floors. Our schoolroom is carpeted and that is definitely not ideal for crafty stuff. :)
I love your school room. It looks so bright. Your children are very blessed to have such a wonderful room and teacher.
Thank you for sharing your organizing and setup. It really helps those of us who are challenged in this area. =)
I love finding other Catholic homeschooling mom blogs! So glad I clicked on your name. Your room looks GREAT. This is our first year so we're still....well, a work in progress :)
