18 Week Ultrasound! :)
Yesterday was an exciting day for our family! We all went to my 18 week baby checkup and got to see our little one on the big screen. This was a first for all my children since with previous pregnancies, my husband was the only one that came with me to the appointments to see the baby.
Before I reveal our precious miracle, I wanted to share a little lesson I shared with my cupcakes last week knowing that they would be attending my ultrasound appointment soon.
Usually after dinner on a night when we don't have Scouts or soccer, we sit as a family and do a lesson from Family Formation. I really enjoy these weekly lessons with our family and I think my cupcakes do too! All the lessons come in the mail monthly and have everything you need to teach them.
Last week, I did the lesson on the Sanctity of Life. Our family always prays for the end to abortion daily and we have attended the March for Life in Washington, DC twice before. We talk about the great gift of life in our daily lives and my cupcakes love babies (especially their new sibling growing big and strong), but I wanted to sit our family down and continue our life conversations with a fun Family Formation activity.
Here are some pictures of our evenings lesson with a brief description:

The poster that my children creatively colored reads "Before I formed you in the womb I knew you...Jeremiah 1:5 and it has pictures of a baby in the womb at different stages. One of my children wrote "It's a girl" which surprised me because most of them are rooting for a boy. The photo on the bottom right corner has the "Life Begins" magazine that discussed the miracle of life in a very child friendly way with cartoon characters included. The lesson kit also came with a plastic baby at 10 weeks gestation and they were able to learn how a baby was forming in the womb at this stage and wrap it in a baby "blanket". Then the green paper was the lesson I read out loud which had discussion questions following the lesson. It was a blessed night!
Now for the baby pictures to show you what was inside my baby "bump." :)
Here's the baby's fan club that I took while laying down just before the ultrasound
Precious profile!
He/She (we don't find out until the birth) was movin' and groovin' and here is the little hand and arm by the mouth. The tech said even if we wanted to find out the sex of the baby it would have been difficult because the baby was so active and very low in my pelvic area. My children were staring at the screen for awhile and loved seeing their sibling for the first time, but then they started to discuss how they would like a tree frog or a baby bearded dragon lizard for a pet. This made me laugh! :)
"The greatest gift you can give your child is
another sibling."

You look so beautiful, Tracy! How are you feeling now?
You are looking so good. Being pregnant makes you glow:) Love the ultrasound pictures, they didn't do those kind when I had my two. LOL on going from baby to reptiles....what a way to end the MD appt. My two want a bearded dragon for a pet when we return to the states.
Congratulations! It's wonderful to be able to our little ones while they are still growing.
So excited for you and your sweet family Tracy! Thank you for sharing. I LOVE good news and this precious new life is the best! Smiles -

What beautiful photos! I just love the one of the baby with his/her little hand up near the mouth. Gave me chills! The curriculum that you use with them looks wonderful. That is one of my favorite Bible verses.
