Happy Birthday Mom and NOBH Giveaway!
Today my Mom turns 67 years young! While my husband and son travel back from backpack camping with their Boy Scouts Troop, my daughters and I went to Mass with my parents and then we had a birthday breakfast at a local restaurant. Here are a few pictures we took of the birthday celebration. We love you Mom!
My girls made cards for my Mom. My Mom is holding a card from my 4 year old daughter.

Another type of celebration is going on in blogland! The blog hop that I co-host, No Ordinary Blog Hop (NOBH) has been up and running for 3 years and to celebrate we are having a giveaway over at NOBH? I hope you all will go over and enter to win one or more of the $10 Amazon.com gift cards! We have five to give away, and at this time of year who doesn't need a little help with Christmas shopping? Click the button below for details and to go over and help us celebrate the NOBH Third Anniversary!

All Hallows Eve and All Saints' Day Celebrations 2012
Another All Hallows (Holy) Eve or Halloween has passed and today, November 1st, I hosted an All Saints' Day party at my house for our homeschool group. These past few days have been alot of fun full of festivities....
Carving Pumpkins with Dad...
Each Halloween my parents come for a visit and bring some goodies and treats for my cupcakes...
Grandpa being silly with a bat and rat on his head!
Trick-or-Treat time with friends and neighbors!
My son's friend, the grim reaper and my son, a Jedi, fighting evil
My daughter's friend, a colonial girl and my daughters, a witch, mermaid, warrior princess
My cupcakes dressed as a Mermaid, Warrior Princess, Sweet Witch, Jedi
We also celebrate All Saints' Day so it was time to turn the "Happy Halloween" banner to Happy All Saints' Day! You can see how we celebrated All Saints Day last year HERE.
St. Anthony the Abbot (a.k.a. Anthony of Egypt), St. Joan of Arc ( I love when Halloween costumes can be reused for Saint costumes like these two!), St. Cecilia, St. Frances Cabrini
Before each little saint stood in front of their peers and told a little bit about themselves and their friends guessed who they were, we had a Dad in our homeschool group talk about one of his favorite saints, St. Maximilian Kolbe. Thanks Mr. C. for sharing about this wonderful saint! Our children (and moms) loved your presentation!
Some of our little Saints
We had a few games, like find St. Lucy's eyeballs :) , that my daughter made, but this year it was such a beautiful day, many of the kids enjoyed just being outside in the woods and playing with their friends!
And what's a Saint party without yummy food that families brought to share. These holy cupcakes are always a hit!
Here's a great video of over 100 saints being sung in less than 2 minutes. My kids got a kick out of this! Enjoy!

Some Halloween History
Happy All Hallows Eve! Did you know that the word Halloween itself is a shortened form of "All Hallows Eve," the day before All Saints Day?
Here are two articles that have some great Halloween History that I wanted to link to for my own reference and to share with my readers:How Halloween Can Be Redeemed
The Catholic Defender: Halloween
And here's how our family celebrated All Hallows Eve and All Saints Day last year:

Reformation Day: What the Original Protestant actually Taught
I first heard of "Reformation Day" a few years ago. I didn't know exactly what it was, but my initial thought when I first heard of it was a feeling of sadness since I gradually realized that "Reformation Day" is a day people celebrate being in protest against Christ's one, holy, catholic, and apostolic Church.
I hope this post, written so beautifully by Tiffany, will give all of us a deeper understanding of Church history.

Happy 11th Birthday to Cupcake #2!
11 years ago today, our bouncing baby boy blessed our family, friends,
and all those he meets with his adorable personality, beautiful smile,
his dark curly hair, and above all the special way he nurtures and loves
all of God's creations! I found some of my favorite pictures of our
son from the past when flipping through our photo albums:
He loves his Mommy!
He loves to laugh, but he sometimes says he doesn't love his curly hair :(
He loves nature, being outside, and dirt!
He loves his sisters! (and loves teasing them too!)
He loves playing/watching sports, especially soccer and football!
He loves special outings with Dad! Go NC State Wolfpack!
He loves having fun with his sisters!
He loves to smile! :)
He loves serving God and we hope and pray he always will!
Happy 11th Birthday! We love you!

Here’s The Ohio State Marching Band’s Shout Out To Video Games
This is so fun to watch! It's about 9 minutes long and even though I didn't recognize all the video games they featured, it's awesome! I especially liked what the Ohio State Band made starting at minute 6...Wow! Enjoy!
