(Almost) Wordless Wednesday: Hermit Crabs are Cool!
Last week the kids and I took our annual trip to a beach about 45 minutes from our home to visit some friends. In the waterway, there are hermit crabs crawling in the water near the shoreline and a highlight for my children is collecting the crabs in a small pool. Here are some pictures I took of our day:

My son also found a fiddler crab and found a way to pick it up without getting pinched by its claws.

How fun Hermit crabs are so fun to play with:) Come to think of it I have never seen a hermit crab here in the UK when we have been to the beach. I wonder if they have them here:) I see you have made it past the 300 follower mark. CONGRATS. Voted for you today
We brought Hermit Crabs home with us from NC - the boys just love them!
How fun! We rarely find things like that at the beach.
Great photos. My son would never be able to pick them up like your cupcakes did. lol
Trying to get caught up on all your posts that I've missed. You have been busy planning and getting ready for school. My son is not ready to go back yet, but then neither am I. =)
Hermit crabs are cool and I'm not sure if I would be brave enough to pick one up! Or any kind of crab for that matter!!
Hi Anna-Marie,
The hermit crabs are fun! My kids enjoy them. We don't usually see these little critters at our local beach. We usually find them in the same area at a beach we travel to to visit friends each year. Thanks for stopping by! :)
Jen,
I hope your kids are enjoying the hermit crabs! What a nice treasure to bring home from your NC visit!
Hi Christine,
Like I mentioned to Anna-Marie in my comment above, we usually don't find these fun critters. This particular location in the waterway usually has alot :)
Hi Lynda,
Great to hear from you! I hope you and your son have a great school year with all the new changes and adventures that await you! :)
HI Noreen,
These crabs are one of the easier ones to pick up, but then again I usually let my son pick up any living critter first since he has no fear!
