October 2 is the Feast Day of our Guardian Angels. It is a day to remember how our guardian angels protect, guide and lead us on our life's journey.
We had a simple celebration of our faithful angels by setting up our dining room table and reading from books about guardian angels at dinner time when my husband got home from work. We have done a few angel crafts in the past in 2014 and 2015 if you would like some ideas.
Some of the books I read from were the same as on September 29 when we celebrated Michaelmas or the Feast of the Archangels. Here is what we read from:
Saints and Angels: Popular Saints of Familiar Saints
Angel in the Waters (This was also a great book to read when we did our Defend Life Lesson just last week.)
Angels for Kids (I recently won this one from Catholic Child on Catholic Child's Facebook page.)
Lacy at Catholic Icing has 10 Ways to Celebrate the Feast Day of Guardian Angels if you would like several more ideas to celebrate this beautiful feast day.
Angel of God, my Guardian Dear,
to whom God's love commits me here,
ever this day be at my side,
to light and guard, to rule and guide.
Amen.
All Holy Guardian Angels, protect and guide us!
