Today my 6 year old "cupcake" and her 6 year old friend were watching our VHS copy of one of my favorite movies, "The Sound of Music". If you are familiar with this wonderful movie and story, there is a scene in the movie where the family is having a party and one of the male Von Trapp children goes up to his sister and starts dancing with her. As this scene was shown, I overheard my cupcake say "I wish I had that kind of brother that would like to dance with me." Then my cupcake's friend added, "My brother would rather break my arm than dance." Ouch! I thought this conversation was cute, funny, and blog "worthy". I got a chuckle out of their comments, maybe you will too. I have watched "The Sound of Music" over and over again and have sang the songs over and over again. I'm glad my children love watching this movie too.

We love The Sound of Music! As a matter of fact, the song Sixteen Going On Seventeen has been going through my mind the last few days... You are sixteen going on seventeen, Baby it's time to think, Better beware, Be canny and careful, Baby you're on the brink...
ReplyDeleteHave a great day!
Hi Annita!
ReplyDeleteThanks for your comment! We do have alot in common don't we? I like 16 Going on 17 too because I was 16, almost 17 when I met my dear husband on the beach playing volleyball. So when I hear this song it reminds me of when our friendship began. I guess the good Lord knew:
"I needed someone older and wiser" (he's 5 years older than me and wise)
"Telling me what to do" (well, he doesn't tell me what to do, but rather he gives me good advice, sometimes :) )
"He was 17 going on 18" (he was a little older than 17 when we met)
"He'll take care of you" (yes, my wonderful husband does take (great) care of me and our cupcakes)
Love your beautiful profile picture too!
Have a blessed weekend!
