I'm just now catching up with blog posts after a long blog break. The break was mostly due to the fact that I thought I was going to start a new blog, but now I'm not too sure about that "little" goal and project. So I decided to continue blogging here since I enjoy it so much.
Back on May 19, 2017 we celebrated my oldest daughter's 17th birthday and on the same day we celebrated the Sacrament of Confirmation for my son! Big day! Here are some photos from the very special day...
Before the Confirmation Mass in the evening, I made a Confirmation themed dinner. But, my two oldest fought over the "You are special today" plate. My daughter thought she should eat off of it because it was her birthday, but my son wrestled to get it because he thought he should use it for the meal because he was getting confirmed later in the evening. Ha! Ha!
Here is how I set the table....
Chicken Alfredo (from Costco) to represent the 7 gifts of the Holy Spirit (alfredo sauce is white to represent the purity of the Holy Spirit) and his gift wrapped with the list of the gifts of the Holy Spirit. There was also a bowl of mixed fruit for the "Fruits of the Spirit".
After dinner we went to our Church for the Confirmation Mass. Since we didn't have a Bishop, our parish priest was given permission to anoint each candidate for Confirmation.
Some photos before the Mass...
My son chose St. Francis of Assisi as his Confirmation Saint.
My husband sponsored my son's friend and our friend's dad was my son's sponsor. We were blessed to have both sets of grandparents celebrate with us.
It was a beautiful, fun day and I'm so proud of the young lady our daughter is growing into and I'm proud of the faith journey our son continues to be on.
