HT Super Double Coupons, Giveaway, and Join Us for May's No Ordinary Blog Hop

This week from April 27 - May 3, 2011, Harris Teeter is having SUPER Double Coupons!  A dear friend of mine, Delly, has been using coupons since last summer and the more she enthusiastically talked about her savings, the more interested I became to try using coupons. Delly let me know about the SUPER Double Coupon sale and she was so nice to give me a stack of coupons to try to see what I could save.  I spent close to 3 hours in Harris Teeter this afternoon trying to figure out all this coupon stuff and get the best bargain.  Here's what I bought:

My total before coupons and VIC savings was $127.19, but after cashing in my 20 coupons plus the VIC card savings, I paid..........
$65.45!
Let's just say my husband and I were quite impressed with this total!  I got some groceries for free or less than $1.00 after the coupon discount.  I think I have the coupon bug, but I have so much more to learn to really be consistent about saving so much money!
I am grateful for Delly who is teaching me step by step on how to benefit from using coupons since I have NO prior experience.  Delly has a blog now where she posts about all the deals she finds and tips on how to be a coupon queen (or king).

Be sure to visit Delly at Delly's Deals to see how you can also save lots on groceries each week!  By the way, Delly told me she used to spend about $600/month on groceries for herself, husband, and 3 young children.  She now spends about $300-$350/month due to using coupons!  WOW! I'm going to keep listening to dear Delly! :) Thanks Delly for your friendship and patience with this momma who is just learning the art of using coupons!

Great job! I wish Harris Teeter was near us. I think the closest one is about 30 min away. I wish our Publix doubled!! I need to get back into couponing. I've been saving my coupons up since I started my couponing posts a few months back but I just haven't had the time.

Great job on the savings. We can't use coupons here, not a UK thing. I have a friend who sent me a clip from the reality show about people who coupon shop to the extreme, it was fun to watch:) Keep up the good work, when I return to the states you can give me a few pointers.

Great job, Tracy, saving all that money. I love couponing, but I'm not very good at. I can never save as much as others are able too. Thanks to Christine, I got some pointers. I will head over to your friend Delly's to pick up some more. Thank you also for helping me spread the word about my giveaway. You are the best. =)

I am a homeschooling mom too. My youngest is finishing his freshman year in high school. Where did the time go? I would love to decorate cakes...just never took the time to learn. New follower from bloggy moms!

O.K. I am a little late in commenting on this, but I can't believe all you bought for the price. Great job on money saving!! I am always amazed at how much money coupons can save. I need to become better at taking the time to use them. I am on my way to check out Delly's Deals. Thanks for sharing!

I love couponing! My best so far was $29 off of one shopping trip. My new favorite show is TLC's Extreme Couponing. I wish a grocery store nearby me did double coupons!

Good savings, Tracy, WTG!!!

Hi Christine! Couponing seems to be a great way to save money, but it is a time investment and I hope I can keep with it in order to save money. I'm going to have to revisit your coupon posts to learn some new things :)

Hi Anna-Marie,
I didn't know you couldn't use coupons in the UK! That's a bummer :/ I have so much to learn about couponing, it's definitely a learning process :)

Hi "life...just saying",
Thank you for stopping by and commenting. I can't imagine having a freshman in high school since my kids are so young now, but it will be here sooner than I think for sure! Well, my oldest will be a freshman in 3 years, which isn't far at all! Yikes! :) Thanks for following and I visited your lovely blog and I'm following you back! :)

Hi Kimberly,
There's definitely a learning process to understand the world of coupons, but my friend Delly has such good tips I just do what she tells me to save money :) Hope you like her blog! Have a blessed weekend!
